Learning IR - Wizard Based

Learning IR - Wizard Based

This guide outlines the step-by-step process for learning IR codes into the library manager of PCS (Pro Control Studio) to enable auto programming of pages and preprogrammed buttons for remote control devices.

IR Library Setup and Device Addition Open PCS, access the Infrared Library Manager, and ensure the default USER.cml file is active. Create a new remote entry by selecting Remote -> New, then choose the manufacturer and device type from dropdowns, entering model or preferred name. To facilitate auto programming, select from predefined device types.

Adding Functions and Learning IR Codes Functions can be added individually by selecting from the dropdown or collectively via the New Function Wizard, with auto programming requiring selection of predefined remote functions. Connect the IR learning device, align the remote with the device, and ensure the frequency display is green. Learn each IR code by selecting the function and clicking learn, holding the remote button until the code is captured. Some codes may require quick presses due to encoding differences.

Finalizing and Integrating IR Codes After learning all functions, close the library without saving or renaming, as PCS autosaves into USER.cml. Add the device under Controlled Devices as User IR Codes, select the device, and choose a premade page. Verify the addition by checking the device’s page and icon, then navigate to the page to confirm programming and make customer-requested adjustments.

This process enables efficient setup of IR-controlled devices within PCS for automated page and button programming.
