Using the Sub Out RCA port on the Bijou 2100, 3100, and 5100D, the Bijou can send audio to a powered subwoofer or to a subwoofer amplifier.
Connecting a subwoofer
Navigate to the Bijou's web interface and go to the Speaker Config tab. Under Output Configuration, set the Sub Out setting to "Sub Out."
On the same page under Frequency Response, use the Crossover Frequency slider to set the low pass crossover filter for the Sub Out port.
Connect an RCA cable from the Sub Out port on the Bijou to the input on the powered subwoofer or subwoofer amplifier.
If your subwoofer has an adjustable crossover setting, bypass it if possible, or set the low pass filter to its highest setting so it doesn't conflict with the crossover already applied from the Bijou.
Using a powered subwoofer, all you need to do now is power the subwoofer on and it should be ready to output signal from the Bijou.
Using a subwoofer amplifier, make sure a subwoofer is connected to the amplified outputs. Power on the amplifier, and it should be ready to output signal from the Bijou.
Turn on the audio from sources connected to the Bijou to confirm all the speakers and the subwoofer are working properly.
In the Bijou web interface's Speaker Config page, under output gain you can set the test tone to Sub Out and press the Play button to send pink noise to that channel and make sure the output is functioning. You can also adjust gain and distance for the Sub Out on this page. The Sub Out can be tuned on the Graphic EQ page.
