Control 4 SDDP settings: For X / XR series processors and receivers

The AudioControl X series processors and XR series receivers allow Control 4 programmers to enable SDDP (Simple Device Discovery Protocol) for automatic device recognition when setting up a Control 4 system.

On the X series processors and XR series receivers the SDDP function can be enabled by pressing and holding the front panel MENU button for 3 to 4 seconds, this will bring up the Engineering menu on the front panel display. Scroll down to and select the C4 SDDP option and then select ON. Directly below the SDDP setting is the “SEND C4 Identify” option, highlight that option and press select to send.

You can also open the web GUI by entering the IP address of your processor or receiver into a web browser and then navigate to the Engineering tab and set the “Control 4 SDDP” option to ON, then select the SEND button next to the “Control4 Identify” setting.
