Introduction

This guide outlines the step-by-step process to update the AudioControl Director lineups Dante Chipset from firmware version 0.0.0.1 to 0.0.2.0 using the Dante Controller and Dante Updater. Please ensure your Dante Port is connected to the same network as your computer before beginning the process.

Step 1: Launch Dante Updater

Open the Dante Controller application on your computer. From the top navigation bar, click the 'View' menu and select 'Dante Updater' from the drop-down list (or press Ctrl+U).

Step 2: Check Current Firmware

Once Dante Updater opens, navigate to the 'HOME' tab. You can locate your AudioControl Director device by expanding the 'CONSULT MANUFACTURER' or 'UPDATE(S) AVAILABLE' sections to verify its current firmware version (e.g., 0.0.1).

Step 3: Enable Imported Firmware Settings

To allow custom firmware updates, click the hamburger menu (three horizontal lines) in the top-right corner of the window and click 'Advanced Settings'.

Step 4: Allow Imported Firmware

In the Advanced Settings pop-up, check the box labeled 'ALLOW IMPORTED FIRMWARE'. Click 'APPLY' to save the setting.

Step 5: Navigate to the Firmware Library

Switch to the 'LIBRARY' tab at the top of the Dante Updater. Click the arrow next to 'IMPORTED FILES' to expand this section. By default, it will show 'No files imported'. Click the 'IMPORT FIRMWARE' button located in the bottom-right corner.

Step 6: Import the Firmware File

An import window will appear. Click the 'SELECT FILE' button and browse your computer for the firmware file (e.g., 'AudioControlDirector_16x16-0.0.2.0.dnt'), or drag and drop the file directly into the dashed box.

Step 7: Confirm Import

After the file is parsed, a 'File Processed' dialog box will appear indicating that the file has been successfully added to your Imported Files. Click 'CLOSE'.

Step 8: Verify the Imported File

Check the 'IMPORTED FILES' section under the 'LIBRARY' tab again. The AudioControl Director firmware should now be listed, confirming it is ready for use.

Step 9: Prepare Device for Update

Return to the 'HOME' tab and expand the 'IMPORTED FIRMWARE FILES' dropdown. Your AudioControl Director device should be listed here with an 'UPGRADE' button available. Check the box for your device and click 'UPDATE SELECTED DEVICES' (or click 'UPGRADE'). Agree to the interruption warning and click 'UPDATE NOW'.

After the device has fully rebooted and reappeared on the network, check the Dante Updater 'HOME' tab once more. Verify that the firmware version for your AudioControl Director now successfully reads 0.0.2.0.
