Overview
WiiM music streamers have two different MAC addresses, one for Wi‑Fi and one
for Ethernet. If the incorrect MAC address is entered in the RTI driver settings, the
driver will fail to communicate with the device.
Common Mistakes
A common mistake occurs when using RTI device discovery or a third‑party IP
scanner. The MAC address displayed for the WiiM player in these tools may not
be the correct MAC address required by the RTI driver. Entering this MAC address
can result in communication failures between the RTI driver and the WiiM device.
MAC Address Procedure
1.
Open the WiiM app. Navigate to the Devices tab and select the
cogwheel (settings icon) next to the desired player.
2. Select Device Info. (Arrow Right)
3. Locate the MAC Address field and select the Copy button to the right of
the address.
4. Paste the copied MAC address into the RTI driver properties within
Integration Designer.
Once the correct MAC address is entered, the WiiM music streamer should
operate normally with the RTI control system.
Troubleshooting
If the WiiM music streamer is switched between Ethernet and Wi‑Fi, some routers
may temporarily retain the previous MAC address association. This can cause the
device to appear offline or prevent proper communication with the RTI driver.
• Power cycle the WiiM music streamer.
• Reboot the network router.
• Verify the correct MAC address is entered in the RTI driver settings after
the network change.
After the router and device refresh their network information, communication
should be restored.
