Importing Existing IR Databases into PCS

  • Purpose: Guide for importing existing IR databases into Pro Control Studio (PCS) for future use.
  • PCS IR Library: PCS uses a separate, static library for user-created IR codes. Commands in the master IR database cannot be edited, but additional IR codes can be added to the user library.
  • Accessing IR Library Manager:
    • Go to Libraries under Controlled Devices.
    • Open the Infrared Library Manager (IRLM).
  • Default File Location: IRLM defaults to the user.cml file, typically stored in the My Documents folder.
  • Importing IR Codes:
    1. Select Remote from the top menu in IRLM, then click Import.
    2. Navigate to the location of the target .cml file and select it.
    3. Choose specific remotes to import (all or selected ones).
    4. Click OK to confirm.
  • Post-Import Steps:
    • IRLM will confirm the import process.
    • Close IRLM after importing; saving is automatic.
  • Using Imported Codes in PCS:
    • Add an Infrared Device under Controlled Devices.
    • In the Select Device window, choose User IR codes to access imported code sets.
