Updating Firmware on ProControl
This document provides step-by-step instructions for updating firmware on Pro Control remote devices, processors, and accessories using Pro Control Studio software.
Firmware Update Process
- Ensure the latest version of Pro Control Studio (PCS) is installed; updates can be checked via the Help menu, with internet required only for updating PCS itself.
- Firmware files are included within PCS; no internet needed for device updates once software is current.
- Log into the Pro Control website to download updates if PCS is outdated, then close PCS before running the update file.
Device Firmware Updating Procedures
- For Pro24.r remotes, select the device in PCS, check for firmware updates, and click "Update Firmware." Follow on-screen prompts, including touchscreen calibration with a stylus, and wait for the device to reset before downloading the program file.
- For ProLink.r, similar steps apply; after firmware update, the device resets and appears as "unknown," requiring the system file to be downloaded.
- For Pro24.z, place the remote into USB Mode as instructed, then select the device in PCS, click "Update Firmware," and calibrate the touchscreen post-update.
- For ProLink.z, firmware updates require USB mode, with the device entering mode after reset. The process involves connecting via USB, updating firmware, and recalibrating the touchscreen, with the device appearing as "unknown" afterward.
General Notes
- Firmware updates may take from one to two minutes.
- Factory reset options are available via the "Update Firmware" button.
- After updates, devices will often show as "unknown" and need the system file downloaded to complete the process.
