XP-8v Operation Guide

XP 8v is a high-end control processor designed for automating electronic systems in various environments.

Product Overview

  • XP 8v features a 1GHz processor, 1GB RAM, and 512MB flash memory.
  • It includes eight I/O ports, relay outputs, RS-232 ports, and sense inputs.
  • Supports IR emitters and RTI power sensing modules.
  • Non-volatile memory retains configurations without power.

Installation & Operation

  • Programming is done via RTI’s Integration Designer software using USB or Ethernet.
  • Firmware updates are recommended and can be installed through the USB port.

Infrared Emitters

  • Each I/O port can drive up to four IR emitters directly.
  • Requires an amplified connecting block for more than four emitters.
  • IR output gain is adjustable for each port.

RS-232 Communication

  • Supports two-way control via eight RJ-45 output ports.
  • Ships with RJ-45 to DB-9 adapters for RS-232 connections.
  • Communication cabling should be limited to 50 feet depending on baud rate.

Sense Inputs / Relay-Trigger Outputs

  • Sense inputs can trigger events based on contact closure or voltage.
  • Relays can be configured for dry contact closure or voltage trigger output.

Power Supply

  • Powered by a 12VDC/1A power supply.
